24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Law enforcement at the U.S./Mexican border is the USA's first line of defense against drug runners, illegal aliens and potential terrorists. Every year, narcotics worth billions of dollars are smuggled by drug mules across the border, and millions of Mexican immigrants enter the U.S. illegally in search of a better life.

I helped to secure access and filmed with Border Patrol in Arizona and South Texas for an 8 week period. One of the toughest and most rewarding jobs of my career. Filmed on XF305.

Working on this series has involved filming across day and night 12hr shifts on ambulances and in response vehicles. I had to deal with various consent, legal and moral issues sensitively whilst still getting the goods and following the stories. Filmed on Z5.

Feature documentary about child bullfighters in Mexico. The film follows three children who are fighting not just the bull but their own demons. I filmed a one week pick up shoot in France following one of the child bullfighters as he performed to a somewhat disapproving crowd. Solid State EX1

Formatted documentary. We follow six modern day athletes as they take part in an ancient Peruvian ice race. Working closely with the DOP I was 2nd unit lighting cameraman shooting on Digibeta DVW-970. This involved living with an indigenous tribe and filming at an altitude of over 5000m for two weeks.

After leaving Atlantic I became a freelance lighting cameraman. In the last couple of years I have mainly been working in the observational documentary genre as a camera/director. See credits above.

2000-2005 Atlantic Productions
Starting as a runner in this documentary film production company I quickly became the in-house camera assistant, sound recordist, stills photographer, grip, DV camera operator, and finally lighting cameraman. I worked on a variety of documentary films shot all over the world. I also dealt with the equipment side of shoot preparation, including customs paperwork, and supervised the technical details of pre and post production.
