Over the past twenty years, I have worked as a director in various areas of film and TV, including comedy, drama, commercials, music videos, multi cam studios and 18 film camera shoot for live music. In comedy and drama, I have directed performances by Armstrong and Miller, Jimmy Carr, Griff Rhys Jones, Dara Briain, Noel Fielding, Justin Lee Collins, Alan Carr, Lily Savage, Bob Monkhouse, David Rappaport, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Keith Allen, Harry Dean Stanton and many others. I have also made numerous noted documentaries for all the major terrestrial broadcasters including "Life, Death and Damian Hirst", "Who the F*** is Pete Doherty" plus Dispatches docs such as "Pain of Death".
Music acts I have directed include UB40, REM, Keith Richards, U2/Greenpeace, Massive Attack, Simple Minds, Bob Geldof, Barry White, KD Lang, Lyle Lovett, Eurythmics, Tom Petty, Iron Maiden, Sly and Robbie and Ziggy Marley.
My career started in production on British feature films such as The Comic Strip and Assistant Directing alongside film directors Mike Leigh, Richard Eyre, Stephen Frears and Dave Hare.
A natural communicator with boundless energy, my objective is to photograph in the most exquisite manner, whilst getting the best performances from the artistes or subject matter. I thrive under pressure. I also lecture in film-making and music at both the University of Surrey and Denmark Film School.
