• The module examines online production processes, video servers, network protocols and digital transmission.
• The module develops the skills needed to edit news-style stories on non-linear systems.
• Lecturers from BBC Training & Development
• Practical workshops using Avid editing systems
Audio Post Production
• Applied skills, understanding and knowledge of the principles and practices of audio recording (specifically location and ADR recording), production, editing, mixing and mastering to both stereo and 5.1
• Practical workshops using Protools
• Working with a diverse range of sound sources both in the studio and on location
• Use a variety of audio recording and post production techniques to enable professional sounding audio tracks to be created, both for TV and film
Post Production for Video and Film
• The module examines a range of techniques and issues associated with modern post-production
• Practical workshops using the Adobe Digital Video Suite
• Photoshop for bitmap image manipulation
• Illustrator for vector image manipulation
• Premiere for video editing, After Effects for compositing and advanced video effects, Encore for DVD production, and Audition for audio editing
• The use of Green screen
Technology Project
• Undertake a sustained and independent piece of work that builds on previous knowledge, experience and skills acquired during earlier studies.
• To extend and develop expertise in relation to specific personal interests and career aspirations through the production of a technology product and an evaluative report.
• The module requires evidence of practical skills, planning and self-management; the project will also display a breadth of reading and evidence of sustained research.
