XPTV Post Production (FT) (2.6 Yrs) Feb 2007-Oct 2009
Starting as an edit assistant, working under two established editors I mastered format / transfer and working efficiently with editors. I quickly learnt Avid and was soon offline editing. This grew from assisting into editing large demanding TV ad campaigns such as HMV / Play.com, various music promos including 'Flightpath Tegel' for John Foxx (Ultravox) directed by Ian Emes (Bafta winning director) and work for Stella McCartney. This honed my client and communication skills - bringing many jobs into the company.
The Quarry, London (freelance)
Working as a freelance edit assistant, for amongst others Paul Watts and Bruce Townend on a variety of high-end commercials.
Ascent Media - Discovery Networks Europe (FT) - Assisted in the smooth running of a media library. I was responsible for assisting in the move to tape-less transmission; accounting for and pushing through every program for ingestion onto the servers for broadcast.
Flextech Television (Freelance) - Organising many programs for air of the Flextech channels on any given day, via the schedule i.e. Living TV, Bravo and Challenge. Reporting missing programs, acquired or otherwise and working weeks ahead of schedule.
Channel 5 (Freelance) - While the station prepared to go digital in its transmission, a dual TX suite was installed to run simultaneously with the existing one, before it took over. I was responsible for dubbing each program, each day for this suite, to then cache and digitise prime-time programming onto the system. This included reading time-of-day coded schedules to attain the programmes needed for the days and weeks ahead.
Stink Productions (FT) - Often working for many people within the company, my responsibilities here differed from day to day. For instance editing casting cut downs, mood tapes and directors showreels for specific jobs that were pitching (Final Cut). Shooting castings for auditions, dubbing various formats from and to each other and generally ensuring the office ran smoothly.
