About Mick

  • Share profile:
Fast and versatile director and series producer, I have a proven track record in visual story telling and innovative television.  I am skilled at both running a project from development to completion and picking up and polishing a troubled edit. From 90-minute documentaries for Arena to experimental news reports for More 4, I bring a compelling visual style and a skilful approach to directing presenters and commentary writing.

With more than ten years in television I have worked on an broad range of experience of different genres . I have a lot of experience working with presenters, both familiar faces and new figures to television, and have directed large and small-scale drama inserts. I have directed and self shot observational material and made innovative archive and graphics based series. I come in on budget and enjoy collaborative work.

Several films that I have directed have won international awards including top prizes at the Trento and Telluride film festivals for Mountain Men, a CRE award for Violent Times, a Jules Verne Award for Icemen and a series Peabody for Dancing in the Streets.
