Experienced Lighting Cameraman, Editor and Photographer in the production industry with a real passion for dynamic visual storytelling.
I have worked as a director of photography across Europe, Africa and Asia on a wide range of visual formats from television commercials, short films and music videos to documentaries, travel and corporate films.

A good early grounding as a commercial photographer let me take my training and knowledge of light, composition and subject into my TV and film production work. I learnt my story telling abilities from my time as a news cameraman.

Experienced with a wide range of cameras and grip equipment from full frame HD with prime lenses and Steadicam to action cams and jibs. Also have aerial camerawork and photography experience. PADI open water diver.

Good communication skills and a calm persona with a hard work ethic. Used to filming high profile individuals from multinational company directors and famous personalities to wild monkeys in the Gambia. Only occasionally at the same time...

Employment History

Freelance 2008 - present

Having shot a number of corporate films for multinational clients including DHL, Capita, NPIA, Laing O'Rourke and many others, I've also found time to DOP a range of short films and music videos.

Channel 2020 2006 - 2009

Through my time at 2020 I traveled far and wide, shooting promotional films for Multinational clients across Europe, Africa and Asia. Filming adverts, documentaries and major corporate films on a variety of formats. This included Aerial filming, Steadicam and an array of filming methods appropriate for the job. In my time with the production house my principal roles were as a Director, Lighting Cameraman and Editor but I also provided regular services as a Photographer, Colorist and After Effects Specialist. I still do a lot of work for this very well respected film company.

Midland Asian Television 2005 - 2006
Working as a senior news and studio cameraman provided a massively diverse role. Filming mainly out on location covering regional stories for the evening news as well as live and pre recorded studio work for a variety of entertainment and factual shows. A great lesson in visually telling stories and time keeping. Other roles included editing reports with AVID and visual graphics work.

Freelance Photographer 2000 - present

Beginning in press work as a photographers assistant soon found me photographing premiership football for the back pages, leading onto a huge variety or work. I have shot briefs for fashion, travel, corporates, construction, press, events, wedding, film and a host of others as I've worked through the transition from 35mm and medium format to the digital age.
