Previous Paid Employment:
Technical Operator at Ideal Shopping Direct, Peterborough - I am required to carry out various roles, including; Lighting, Audio, Camera Operator, Vision Control, Editor and Floor Sound. I work varying 12-hour shifts and also work overnights when required.
Technical Operator at Channel M in Manchester - I carry out a series of responsibilities in the studio and gallery, including; Camera Operator, Lighting Technician, Floor Manager and Autocue.
Media Technician at The University Of Central Lancashire, Preston - I ensure that the TV studio is in working order for staff, students and outside clients and solve any technical problems that may arise. I also support the students and staff with using all studio equipment. I work with outside clients, who may wish to use the studio facilities and ensure the programme making process runs as smoothly as possible.
Lecturer in Television Production and Interactive Tv Production, University of Central Lancashire, Preston - I was a lecturer for two modules (1st and 3rd Year) I was responsible for giving talks on various TV subjects, from Ofcom to IPTV. I was also required to assist students with problems and mark assignmants with guidance from the Course Leader.
Production Trainee/Editor at The Country Channel, Kiddington. - I am responsible for editing and uploading short television programmes for an IPTV television channel. I use a selection of programs, including Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects and Photoshop. My responsibilities also include operating a Sony V1 HDV camera and using sound and lighting kits for in-house shoots.
• Flog It! (BBC), Penrith November, 15th 2006 (Runner)
I worked as a production runner. I assisted with any task required, from tea making to acquiring consent from contributors. I was able to practice using broadcast quality cameras and got a real feel of how a professional OB production team works.
• David Jones Meets (UCLAN), October 25th 2006 (Director)
I directed a 15 minute studio interview for a local Preston magazine. My responsibilities included choosing camera shots and angles, ensuring the crew were confident with their tasks and ensuring that the client's brief was followed at all times. The programme was distributed locally via DVD.
• Flog It! (BBC), Windermere, October 15th 2006 (Steward)
I worked as a Production Steward. I performed a series of roles, from guiding members of the public and getting crew refreshments to wrapping up valuable antiques and logging their details. I was also able to work with the director and gain production experience.
• Emmerdale (ITV) September 25th - 28th 2006 (Runner/Cable Basher)
I helped with setting up props and ensuring that everything was correct for the recording of the scenes. I was a production runner and cable basher on location and in the studio.
