About John

  • Share profile:
Producer/Director of visually arresting programmes across a range of genres, specializing in Current Affairs, Arts, Science and History.

I recently produced, directed and shot a highly controversial C4 Dispatches which exposed corruption in the highest echelons of British politics, shedding light on the financial links between the House of Lords and Russian Oligarchs.

I also made a BBC Panorama about one of the biggest stories of recent years, the poisoning with radioactive polonium of Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko.

In addition to my experience making fast turnaround, high profile current affairs, I worked for two years as a director on the BBC's flagship Arts programme, The Culture Show. I was Series Producer and Director of Visionaries, also on the BBC, about major figures in Arts and Science . My treatments have been stylish, innovative and format driven.

I am a fluent Russian speaker and a veteran of over 30 shoots in Russia and Eastern Europe.

My background is as an award winning journalist, writing for the Guardian and most other major British newspapers.

I self-shoot and light on DV, HD, DSR and Digi and can edit on FCP and Avid Express.
