About Joel

  • Share profile:

I'm a factual entertainment and corporate Producer/ Director and FCP Editor with 14 years of broadcasting experience.

In 2012 I have been making Olympic athlete profile films for BMW and in 2011 I PD'ed a one hour factual entertainment show for MTV about the nominees for the European Music Awards which comprised links, archive footage and especially shot interviews with music artists including David Guetta, Britney Spears and Jessie J.

I worked at the BBC for 9 years on Factual Entertainment shows including What not to Wear (BBC ONE), Wedding Stories (BBC THREE), Sex, Warts and All Down Under (BBC THREE) and Hollywood Greats (BBC ONE).

In the last three years I have been producing, directing and editing high end broadcast quality corporate films for brands including BMW, Mini, Nestle, Burberry, Bayer, BBC Internal Comms, BBC Worldwide and Glasgow's Commonwealth Bid.

"I highly recommend Joel. He was a pleasure to work with, came up with lots of creative ideas, was very committed to the project throughout and delivered a great show."
Petra Schwimmbeck, Series Producer, MTV Europe

"Joel's a real team player. He's practical, creative and develops fantastic relationships with contributors and crew."
Gail Hendrie, Series Producer, BBC Scotland

"One of our biggest clients is BMW who request Joel to direct their films. They enjoy working with him (and his selection of purple wigs!), as they know he can be relied on to deliver high end corporate media. I can recommend him as a top notch Director."
Simon Poulter, Company Director, Mont Blanc Films

"Joel directed and edited a fantastic film for our annual sales conference. Filming with him was effortless and enjoyable, but most importantly he interpreted our brief brilliantly and the film was very well received by the rest of the company. I can't recommend him highly enough."
Paloma Castro, Senior Research Manager, BBC Worldwide
