I'm a highly experienced, versatile and award-winning Senior Producer and Series Director making factual programmes and documentaries. My work covers a range of subject matter and genres from major historical documentaries to cookery shows. I've written, produced and directed hours of engaging, intelligent, visually dynamic television and worked with some of the UK's best loved broadcasters including Lenny Henry, Michael Buerk and Richard Briars.

Among my many prestigious network credits are flagship series 'Top Gear' , 'Gardeners'  World' , 'The Sky at Night', 'Countryfile' and, latterly, 'Coast  where i was the longest servng Producer. I have a rich diversity of  programme making experiences which include directing a forty-strong drama crew in India ,('Lost World of The Raj' BBC2 ) hanging perilously from cliffs as the SAS 'assaulted' them ('SAS Survival Secrets' BBC3) and throwing Dr Alice Roberts from a rooftop to test her immune system. ('Don't Die Young' BBC 2 and yes, it really is the best way to do it) I also have considerable self shooting skills and extensive experience of working with CGI.

As both a Series Director and a Series Producer, I've created new shows ('Summer Exhibition' BBC 2 ) and reinvigorated established ones ('Homefront in the Garden' BBC 2) . Many of my projects have involved working closely with outside organisations such The British Museum and The Royal Academy, so I'm all too aware of the sensitivities of access-driven programmes.

In addition to all this, I've been closely involved in the recruitment and mentoring of staff and have conducted programme making masterclasses . I have also spent some time in programme development - pitching ideas for Science and education themed programmes and securing a BBC 4 commission about the History of the Open University - 'Happy Birthday OU: Forty Years of the Open University", which I then produced and directed. in short, I can see a project through from pitching brief to compliance form.

After a long and not totally undistinguished career with the BBC, I'm now  pursuing freelance opportunities. I recently produced a 60 min Pilot for ITV Studios 'Britain's Secret Treasures' which is likely to go into production as a series in 2012. I've a particular interest in work in Australia and New Zealand as I have personal and professional connections there. I also have Australian nationality.
